On 5/14/08 @ Acton Town Hall - with Warrant & Finance Committee 7:00pm: Dennis, "who will repair Buzzell Road"?
Per Scott Mooney "he did not destroy Buzzell Road, it could have been the other person who plows for Buzzell Road". I said "Scott you are on Buzzell Road just about everyday, and you are going to sit there and tell me you were not on Buzzell Road"?
Mike Conway, " We should not talk about Buzzell Road here", I said why, if we need money to repair Buzzell Road than we should take the money out of the budget for our road".
No comment from anyone.
I left the meeting.

a little clarification for the unaware...
patti is talking about a section of Buzzell Road near the sign boasting "End of Town Road" that was apparently damaged by Mooney while plowing. This damage was reported to FOLD almost immediately by Dennis Long, an Acton resident who has been volunteering his time to monitor and maintain portions of Buzzell Road and Lakeside Drive during winter/spring season. While no "witnesses" have come forward, it is known that Mooney had been plowing beyond the sign using the first driveway to turn his vehicle around. This is where the alledged damage to Buzzell Road and driveway is located.
The damage was reported to the Selectmen soon after it was discovered by Long (more than 1 month ago) and it seems absurd that now the Selectmen are saying that there is "no proof." If Mooney "didn't know" or "didn't realize at the time" that the road had been damaged. it would have been one thing (to patti). But to not "acknowledge the obvious," not acknowledge operating his vehicle there, and to now accuse others was too much for patti to continue the meeting with. In my opinion, she demonstarted superhuman self-control. It will cost money to fix Buzzell Road and that driveway. Either it is Town insurance matter or something that needs to be included in the new budget. The hundreds of people that use this road will not handle the "take us to court" BS well.
FYI, the location of the sign was determined by David Cote, according to Selectmen Ruma. Subsequent research that was presented to the Selectmen last year (without any doubt as to its accuracy), placed the "end of the 1893 Buzzell Road" in an entirely different location. Despite repeated requests to the Selectmen to resolve this matter, no action has been taken.
