What gives here?, only two people posting their own messages and reading them back to themselves!
Maybe they should volunteer somewhere?

There are in fact more than 2 members of this message board, and I don't believe Pam or Scott are having as local boy stated a "pity" party at all.
Nor do I see that they bully anyone as local boy seems to like to do without divulging his or her true identity. I see that both Scott and Pam are free to putting their name at the end of their posts without hesitation. I also see that they have included websites or where they obtained their source of information.
I believe they are both working much harder than the town officials are to inform the public (as well as several others, they are not in this alone) and are seemingly doing the job that the town should be doing.
I own property in the town of Acton and I almost say that with reservation at this point because I am appalled at the actions I see within this town and the intimidation tactics that are used to try and silence people. I have seen some of these letters that have circulated about some of the residents here and it amazes me that grown adults could behave in such a juvenile manner. I would have thought that local boy along with whom ever else is using these bullying tactics would have left that kind of behavior behind when they moved on from the elementary school playground.
Is this the mentality the Acton town residents/property owners are forced to have running their town? To think that the town has to go to such lengths to bully people into silence so they can continue to run the town as it is currently being run is WRONG. I think it would be in the best interests of ALL of Acton's residents/property owners to become more informed. Why aren't Town meetings being posted on the firehouse bulletin board instead of fundraiser dinners? Why aren't they posted right at the town hall, The Library, the local media station or anywhere else of public interest. Why are these meetings only posted in the Observer (the day of the meeting, if they are posted at all?) [The Observer is a free paper that is only available to those who can get out to get one] (what about the residents that are housebound? Don't they have as many rights as those that are not to have information available to them?)
The town of Acton has many retired residents that may not have the ability to get out and get a copy of the Observer.
Why is there not a required amount of people to be in attendance at town meeting before any town business is voted in? Shouldn't this be the case in all towns?
Shouldn't ALL town residents be informed of each and every meeting that is open to the public with a reasonable amount of notice of such meetings? Wouldn't it be the job of the town employees to post these notices?
Why are the town meetings not recorded and broadcast on the local station for those residents who can't or don't have the ability to attend them in person?
Personally, I hope news of this wonderful site spreads like wildfire and becomes a wonderful open forum for information of the town business to ALL Acton property owners.
I feel anyone who pays property taxes to the town of Acton should have a say in how this town is run. Why can't a copy of the schedule for town meetings be included in the tax bills when they are sent out?
Until changes are made in the way this town is run, I think you will find more and more residents/property owners feel as though they are paying taxes to get 0.
