The clerk's office at the Acton Town Hall was painted lavender over the weekend. There were many comments about it before and after the last selectmen's meeting when people were paying their real estate taxes. What do you think? Who gets to choose the color of the walls at the Town Hall? If every single employee chose their own favorite color for each of the rooms, what would the Town Hall look like? Hmmmm. So who's really in charge anyway....the selectmen or the employees? Who got to choose this "favorite" color? Did the clerk choose the color to mark her domain of "being in charge"? Is this a visual reminder that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing at the Town Hall? Hmmmmmm......... So who's going to be accountable to the people if we decide that we really don't like the color? Join the poll. We want to hear from you, the public, who owns the building.

first comments to the public shouldn't be slanted in a way to lead the discussion, if you really want to find out what people think, pose a SIMPLE question , let other people talk "aka post" and listen to them. everyone does not share the same taste in color, food, religion, and race, and that is what makes this country great , so if that is a color that enhances the productivity "which is what your paying them to do so don't hate em for that!" then I'm all for it. the color of the inside of an office is easily changed and for all its worth, when they change employees I will gladly take $24.99 and repaint the office back to white myself. the people In those offices are critical to our everyday functioning as a town , its operating as it should, they have saved money and are minding the tax rate as best as possible. respect them, the state of Maine requires much of them as does the town, a little color in a room isn't going to change the way things are done or the chain of command, everyone knows the clerk just cant paint things, there has to be an OK from someone ..don't fry the person who has helped you greatly, or have you forgotten already? remember your paying her to have all the answers , don't cut her short cause she is doing her JOB. you would be shooting the messenger. ;D
at least its not pink like brownville jct was.
Too many times discussion boards like these are used for personal attacks without proof or justification ,reading a forum like this often shows the character of a town and people should remember that. is this the face you want the world to see?

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separted the light from the darkness. God called the light "day" and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning-the first day.
Genesis 1: 1-5
And this IS how the world began.

We have more to be concerned with than the color of the walls in Town Hall!, how about all the incorrect numbers being splahed around by Pam Macalinden at Town Hall!
